“Nothing will ever be the same again…!” we have been told during the Pandemic!

Actually, during the pandemic months:

we have rediscovered the effectiveness of collective actions that aim to achieve a single purpose;

we have rediscovered the civic and moral sense that leads us to protecting people and things;

we have rediscovered the role of the State which draws on the resources and expertise needed to stem unexpected and unknown phenomena;

we have rediscovered the function of International Organizations which have a primary and strategic role in obtaining a favorable result for all;

we have rediscovered the value of the mass media which have a fundamental role in guiding an entire community in times of chaos and uncertainty, illustrating and schematizing the guidelines to follow;

we have rediscovered the centrality of technology that can quickly share strategic information to fight a common enemy, reaching millions of people in a very short time;

we have rediscovered the gravity of international threats which, if not shared by States, can generate global problems of unlimited proportions and depths.

And we hope so then…:

we hope that single Nations can collaborate with the rest of the World in implementing shared actions for the collective well-being; providing information on possible global threats and interacting on possible solutions to apply, thus preventing delays or distortions from creating panic and death;

we hope that International Organizations can really play the role as guarantor of global interests and ward off those pressures that create contradictions and inconsistencies which are harmful to everyone;

we hope that every single State can use the same resources and expertise in fighting corruption, fraud, mafias, criminal organizations, and all those other criminal practices that poison the economy and threaten the lives of people;

we hope that the civic and moral sense can also lead us to obtaining important results in all those other areas needing collective actions;

we hope that the technology at our disposal can help us to share real and strategic information for the collective well-being and for the protection of the World we live in, avoiding the creation of harmful “fake news” that dangerously undermine the paths to embark on;

we hope that the mass media can use their experience in transmitting information capable of enlightening the masses on the real nature of things, thus avoiding the fuelling of false myths and hopes;

finally, we hope that the discovery of the advantages that collective actions can have in achieving a common goal can lead us to obtaining the same results in preserving the earth’s resources and helping peoples in difficulty.
